ST LAUDUS, MABE AND ST MICHAEL'S, PONSANOOTH: The Grand Coffee Morning held in Mabe Community Hall on Saturday was extremely successful, with over £430 being raised for the Church's organ appeal. The appeal now stands at an amazing £3,000. The coffee morning was the idea of David and Mary Beattie and the church was extremely grateful for their guidance; to everyone who helped stage the event and of course to everyone who turned up.

MABE ST LAUDUS CHURCH: A visit by local Brownies was hosted on Thursday. Mabe (St Laudus) Brownies are blooming at the moment and 17 of them (along with one prospective Brownie) were shown around the church by Father John Savage and the church's reader, Martin Brown, who has the honorary title of Badger with the Brownies. The Brownies modelled the priest's vestments; learned about the communion service and baptism; and listened to the bells and the organ. The Brownies donated a wonderful wall hanging they had made, which will now adorn the church. Each panel in the wall hanging depicts something special to the Brownies who created it; from netball to a dolphin called Rainbow.
