More than 200 competitors from across the UK took part in the fourth Helston Triathlon on Sunday.
Setting off from Helston Sports Centre, the athletes completed a 400-metre swim before setting out on a 16.5-mile cycle ride around The Lizard and ended up with a 3.5-mile run in the area around the sports centre.
The Sports Development Team at Kerrier in partnership with Tri-Logic Triathlon Club organised the event that forms part of the British Triathlon South West Series. Prizes were donated by local businesses Cycle Logic, At Your Pace, Outback Trading, Whirlwind Sports, Kitchen and Brown Chartered Accountants, Slightly Different Ltd and Pure Blue.
Prizes were presented by Steve Coram of Cycle Logic to the winners in the different age categories.
Racing in hot conditions, the fastest man around the course was Rich Brady in the male open who finished in 1-05-45 with second placed Chris Birch less than a minute behind and world sailing champion Matt Pullen 75 seconds behind the winner in third place.
The best local runner was cricketer Sean Dunstan, home for Flora Day, finishing in 1-11-54.
The top woman runner was Sam Herridge who finished in 1-12-11 followed home by Anne maskell and Kathryn Burgess.

The full regatta programme for the Funchal 500 Tall Ships Regatta has been finalised. Falmouth is playhing host to the start of the event, with a fleet of some 20 Tall Ships arriving by midday on Wednesday September 10 for four days of entertainment and spectacle before leaving on Saturday September 13 in a Parade of Sail preceding the race start.
